Adult
Book Stores
There
are many voices that are complaining that Americans are
uneducated, that they just don't care about learning, about
reading about bettering themselves. This just ain't sew.
Freaknoid
has noticed a growing number of bookstores springing up
at random spots all across the fruited plain of Middle America.
These are not just your ordinary bookstores with less challenging
books. These are bookstores that have books in them that
have big words and complicated ideas that normal people
and children can't read, thus they are called Adult Book
Stores.
Freaknoid
has not visited them personally because he avoids books
that have long words and complicated subjects after inadvertently
spending a semester in an advanced philosophy seminar. This
was a class where there were books with readings. The paragraphs
were sometimes a whole page long. Nothing much made sense.
So Freaknoid would read the first sentence of the work and
the last sentence of the work and during a pause in the
discussion (your entire grade was based upon discussion)
he would repeat the nonsensical item in one of the sentences.
"I
think, therefore I am," everyone would nod approvingly.
Freaknoid got an "A".
So
Freaknoid applauds the truck drivers and farmers whom he
sees trudging into these shops to read Apostle, Homer, Bart,
Plato, Shakespeare etc.
